Hello and welcome, I'm so glad you're here.
My name is Maria and I'm the founder of
Bright Futures SEND Advocacy,
a special needs advocacy service routed in care,
compassion and a deep understanding of the education system.
With over 16 years experience as a qualified teacher, extensive work as a SENDCo and level 3 SEND law trained, I'm passionate about supporting
children with SEND to thrive.
But my journey isn't just professional, it's personal too. As a parent, I’ve felt firsthand the emotional weight and the complexities that come with navigating the SEND system. I know what it’s like to sit on both sides of the table. To advocate, to listen, to hope and at times, to feel overwhelmed. That lived understanding shapes everything I do, bringing empathy, honesty and a deep sense of purpose to my work with families and professionals alike.
I'm committed to helping families understand their rights, feel empowered in meetings and most importantly, ensure that their child receives the support they are entitled to.
I work using the CARE approach: Clarity, Advocacy, Reassurance and Empowerment - values that underpin everything I do.
At the heart of my service is a simple but powerful goal: to provide clarity, advocate with compassion, offer reassurance and empower every voice on every journey. Whether you need guidance through the EHCP process, support at school or local authority meetings or simply someone who listens and truly understands, I'm here to support you.
